June 10th was a big day for our team, as we launched “The Big Idea” – a countywide campaign focused on connecting 100 miles of trails across Berrien County.
FOBCT board members, trail advocates, and a number of elected officials, partners, and supporters were on hand at the Marquette Greenway Trailhead for the event – that also included a special dedication to founding president, Gary Wood. Wood is one of the key visionaries behind the long-term trail connectivity work that helped lead to The Big Idea. He was recognized with the unveiling of a plaque honoring his contributions. The event also included a ceremonial check presentation representing funds raised by Friends of Berrien County Trails to support the Marquette Greenway project in New Buffalo.
