In collaboration with Berrien County, local municipalities, and other partners, we have set an ambitious goal: connecting 100 miles of continuous trails across Berrien County, Michigan.
Currently, our trails are beautiful but fragmented. Our master plan bridges these gaps, linking the shores of Lake Michigan to the inland waterways, and connecting our towns to our rural landscapes.
Friends of Berrien County Trails is a volunteer-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to creating, supporting, and promoting a connected system of non-motorized trails throughout Berrien County and beyond. We work to link communities with pedestrian, bicycle, and waterway trails, encourage their use, and enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
Founded on the vision of expanding trail access county-wide — evolving from our roots as Friends of Harbor Country Trails — we educate, advocate, and help advance trail projects that improve community health, safety, recreation, and economic vitality.
With a long-term plan to build an interconnected trail network, our work supports current paths and future opportunities that bring people closer to nature and each other.
